This Barcelona-based firm has nailed the art of large-scale urban vertical farms. Doing away with pesticides and long supply chains, this 22-strong team have not only created something super sustainable but also a concept that means their customers can enjoy local tastes, whatever the weather. Seasonality and sustainability? Fantastic.



From Spain to Austria for this next tech wizard who has tapped into a big upcoming trend for vegan seafood alternatives, made entirely from plants.


With rife overfishing and rising plastic levels, our oceans are in dire need of some help and this Vienna-based start-up has already raised 4 million euros to be the ones to give it.



Dubai’s ‘tech-powered, multi-brand restaurant’ help F+B brands scale up across international borders in as little as 14 days. With locations already in UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Poland, KSA and more, they have a mission to change the way people access food by providing a ‘smart kitchen operating system (SKOS) - built in house’ that oversees all aspects of kitchen operations in real-time. This means less wastage of both food and resources, and smart planning with the bottom line in mind.



This unbelievable service, hailing from Romania, helps farmers monitor and then predict harvesting dates, soil fertility and sowing times based on satellite intel and algorithms.


The benefits of this software to global agriculture when the climate is currently so unpredictable are almost infinite - it’s an exciting one.



And to Britain where this Birmingham-based start-up have tapped into the wellness sector with their personalised 3D printed vitamins that combine 7 high-impact nutrients into one plastic-free, vegan, sugar-free capsule.


With a growing team and over 14 million euros raised, these look to be the biggest disruptors in the nutrition industry today.



From Germany, Choco makes ‘makes placing and receiving orders more efficient. Our intuitive app and web tools streamline operations for chefs, owners, and sales reps.’


What does this mean in reality? No paper usage as everything is done in-app, much faster order process due to it being mobile which requires less time from the staff and a lower percentage of wrong orders meaning less waste and lower costs.



Bulgaria’s had a great idea for anybody that services coffee-to-go at their location - an edible and biodegradable cup made of cereal. Say no more…



A Swedish ‘soonicorn’ cutting down on carbon emissions, food wastage and packaging by selling surplus food online. Having raised €24,000,000 so far, there are big things on the horizon for this globally-minded start-up.
